Wingstop UKI has opened its first restaurant in Coventry today. The site is located in the Upper Precinct shopping arcade and hosts 67 covers.

The 5,877 sq. ft site is situated near Coventry University. The menu includes wings, tenders, and burgers alongside milkshakes and beer. In addition, the company recently added corn as a side option to its food range.

This opening forms part of the brand’s wider expansion strategy. The company currently operates 86 sites across the UK and employs more than 3,000 people.

Management said it intends to grow the estate to 200 sites within the next five years. The operator also recently announced plans to expand its business into Ireland.

Chief executive Chris Sherriff said: “Coventry has been on the wish list for some time so we’re very excited to finally open here. With its unique student scene and rich culture, Coventry has an energy that makes it the perfect home for us.

“We’re excited to meet the locals, serve up the wings and flavours our fans love, and become part of the community. A huge thank you to our amazing team for making this happen, we can’t wait to bring more flavour to the Midlands!”
