Cooks Coffee has announced that its coffee house chain Esquires Coffee has signed a 10-year master franchise agreement to expand into the United Arab Emirates, marking a significant international move for the brand.
The agreement includes a right of renewal and provides for the opening of at least 50 outlets across the country. Dubai remains the largest city in the region.
The master franchise partners already operate several stores across the southeast of England.
According to Cooks Coffee, it chose the UAE for its expansion because it is currently one of the fastest growing markets for specialty coffee. Market growth is projected at 10% to 12% annually. This demand is driven by a rising tourism sector and a growing expatriate population within the Middle East.
This expansion supports the international growth strategy of the parent company, Cooks Coffee. The group is focusing on scaling the Esquires brand within key global markets.
Keith Jackson, chairman of Cooks Coffee, said: “This master franchise agreement marks another important milestone in the international development of the Esquires Coffee brand.
“The UAE represents an attractive burgeoning market and we look forward to rapidly building the brand in the region over the coming years.”
