Chef Vincent Crepel will reportedly open his first solo restaurant outside of France within the 17th-Century, 5-star Castlemartyr estate in Ireland this September.
It is reported that chef Crepel will serve French cuisine at this venue with the “bright flavours” of Asia, while using fresh Irish produce. The experience is said to be set over several spaces including a preserving room, dining room, kitchen and salon.
Crepel has gained his experience as a chef working in the three-Michelin-starred Arzak in San Sebastian, Hotel de Ville Crissier in Switzerland, and as sous chef for four years at Restaurant André in Singapore.
County Cork’s luxury 5-star Castlemartyr Resort is situated on 220 acres of land and was officially opened to guests in 2008.
Over the years, the grounds and buildings are said to have been restored and “elegantly” enhanced to offer 108 guest rooms and suites, along with 36 luxury residences. Owner Peng Loh’s Irish portfolio also includes Sheen Falls and the Trinity Townhouse Hotel in Dublin.
Crepel said: “From the first moment I saw the green fields of Ireland surrounded by its spectacular coastline, I have felt a connection with the land and its people, drawn energy from the sea, and inspiration from its bounty.
“At Terre my hope is to bring you on a special journey, and to share with you my very personal vision of a modern restaurant experience.”
