Matcha bar brand, How Matcha, will open a new café on Ledbury Road in Notting Hill in September, marking its second site in London.
The all-day café, which has built a following at its Marylebone venue, will occupy three floors at 52 Ledbury Road, offering 30 covers. The ground floor features sofas, oak-panelled walls and a “relaxed” interior. The basement Kintsugi Room is designed with wood and marble finishes, while the Garden Room opens into a courtyard garden.
Menu items from Marylebone, including the Wasabi Matcha Shot, the Dirty Matcha and the Immune blend, will be available alongside new drinks exclusive to Notting Hill. These include the Matcha Noir – with black sesame, roasted chestnut, activated charcoal and matcha – and the Sunburst, made with matcha, strawberry jam, peach purée, banana and turmeric milk.
The café will also launch a new matcha soft serve, created in partnership with Wild Oats. Flavours will include an unsweetened iced oat matcha latte and a Dirty Matcha soft serve.
Founder Rashique Siddique and operations manager Callum Doherty will lead the Notting Hill site.
Doherty said: “Bringing people together and providing a space for belonging is the heart of what we do at How Matcha. People don’t just drop in, guests often spend four to five hours here each day, feeling truly at home.
“It’s so important to us to champion smaller suppliers, support independent businesses, and celebrate their growth as our shared success too.”
The business has grown from three to 11 employees in just over a year. Siddique and Doherty aim to continue building what they describe as a “hub for connection, creativity and culture” in the new location.
