Majestic Wines has acquired Vagabond Wines out of administration, saving nine of its wine bars from closure. The strategic acquisition provides clarity and job security for 171 Vagabond staff, following a period of uncertainty. Majestic plans to invest in the long-term future of the Vagabond business, with ambitions to open more wine bars, leverage Majestic’s CRM capability, and further develop both companies’ offerings of Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) qualifications for colleagues and customers.

Greggs has appointed Tamara Rogers as an independent non-executive director, effective from 1 June. She will also join Greggs’ audit, remuneration and nominations committee. Rogers, who has over 30 years of experience across a range of commercial and marketing roles, is currently the chief marketing officer of Haleon plc. 

GMB Union and Deliveroo have launched a landmark Respect Charter, pledging positive relationships between riders and restaurants. A number of national restaurant chains and big-name supermarkets, including Wagamama, Wingstop, Bella Italia, Morrisons, The Co-op, Farmer J, Thunderbird and Whole Foods, have already signed the new charter.

Wolverhampton Wanderers has extended its partnership with Levy UK + Ireland to become the club’s new retail partners. The partnership sees Levy build on the catering and hospitality services they provide to Wolves by taking on the club’s retail operations, managing the Wolves Megastore at Molineux, as well as the club’s online store.

Two Magpies has officially opened its latest bakery and cafe in Framlingham. The new bakery, the tenth in the Two Magpies Group, is housed in the old Barclays Bank on Market Square. The new site will offer 50 covers and will be open seven days a week, from 8am-5pm, offering a limited lunch and breakfast menu to start with, rolling out to a full menu as per all larger Magpie sites.
