Temper has announced it is branching out of central London to open a new restaurant location in Paddington Basin on 6 December.
Staying true to its core ‘meat over fire’ concept, chef Director David Lagonell will work with a hand-picked selection of British suppliers to create a menu of temper classics, inspired by the flavours of Latin America.
At the heart of temper’s menu is its famed steak, featuring cuts including Porterhouse, Picaña, Château and T-Bone all sourced from North Yorkshire farmer Charles Ashbridge. A range of accompanying sauces have been created to complement guests’ steak of choice, from Beef-Fat Bearnaise and Korean Barbecue, to Bourbon Pepper
Sauce and Chipotle Sour Cream.
Sourcing all of its meat from a single supplier, temper buys in whole beasts, where possible, to ensure minimal waste. Butchering in-house enables temper to use less cattle per week, ordering just four cattle per week across their current four sites.
To make the most of this, temper Paddington will exclusively be launching a take on the classic mixed grill: the temper Parrilla. Served to tables on an Argentinian-style grill, it is designed for sharing and includes 28 day dry aged 500g steak on the bone (Charles Ashbridge), Salt and pepper pork sausage, Rare breed beef sausage, Black pudding, Smoked brisket and Smoked pork chop, served with Provolone picante cheese, Piquillo pepper, Triple-cooked chips, House salad and Chimichurri.
Set to the backdrop of London’s picturesque Grand Union Canal, temper Paddington will be situated in a highrise complex, offering guests panoramic views of the city’s skyline.
With interiors designed by Takagicapéran, temper Paddington will take inspiration from glowing embers, with burnt orange tones present throughout the space alongside polished wood and leather textures.
Diners will be first greeted by Temper’s open kitchen, central to the restaurant, complete with orange stools ideal for counter dining. The Paddington site will be home to 120 covers, with an additional 70-seats on the terrace.
Co-founder, Sam Lee de Lagonell, said: “Since first launching, we have been setting the precedent of serving world-class meat, sourced in the most sustainable way possible. We’re thrilled to be opening in Paddington, allowing even more people to experience what we have to offer – we don’t scrimp on quality, flavour or morals and this is exactly what visitors can expect when they come down to Paddington.
“To be opening in such an iconic and busy location marks a real milestone in our expansion process, and I’m excited to continue this journey.”
