Wingstop UKI has opened its first restaurant in Northampton, adding a new site to its expanding estate across the UK.

The 2,643 sq ft venue is in the centre of the town’s main shopping district and seats 65 diners. It offers the chain’s menu of cooked-to-order wings, tenders and burgers, along with milkshakes, freestyle drinks, Camden Town Beer and a churros range.

The opening follows the company’s recent announcement of plans to move into Ireland as part of a wider programme of growth. Wingstop UKI currently runs 81 restaurants and employs more than 3,000 staff. It aims to reach as many as 200 sites within the next five years.

The company has pointed to rising demand for its food and what it describes as its culture-driven marketing, which includes collaborations across music, fashion and sport.

Chris Sherriff, CEO at Wingstop UKI, said: “Northampton is a growing town blending heritage with modern development – a perfect match for us. With two successful locations already operating in the region, we’re so excited to join the busy centre of this vibrant community.

“Thank you to our incredible team and all our fans who made this happen. We can’t wait to welcome everyone in and share our bold flavours with Northampton.”
