IRO Sushi has reported a 29% increase in total system sales to £18.5m for the 52 weeks ending 31 December 2025.

The growth was supported by five new store openings in Canterbury, Newbury, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge, and West Hampstead, bringing the group’s total to 30 UK locations.

On a like-for-like basis, sales rose by 19%, which the group attributed to new product development and targeted marketing initiatives.

Customer volume also increased by 55% during the period to 1.1 million. The company reported selling more than 2.6 million portions of chicken katsu curry and approximately 150,000 salmon selection boxes.

Founded in 2014 by sushi chef Chhong Sherpa, the group is now executing a further expansion strategy

New sites in Woking and Tunbridge Wells are scheduled to open by the end of January 2026, with a further eight locations currently in the pipeline. The group expects to open at least 10 new sites across the year.

The company is also exploring early-stage international opportunities, with the aim of signing its first overseas market in 2026. This forms part of a broader plan to reach 100 global locations by 2030.

Sherpa said: “It’s been a fantastic 12 months for IRO Sushi. This has culminated in very strong performance, with near-20% like-for-like revenue growth, which is not only a showcase of the hard work and commitment of our team but also the growing relevance of our offer.

“Consumers across the UK are increasingly demanding high-protein, healthy and authentic meals for lunch and dinner. We are on a mission to bring premium, high-quality sushi to everyone, every day.”
