Georgian restaurant and natural wine bar DakaDaka will open at 10 Heddon Street, Mayfair, in November as the debut London project of Berkeley Square Hospitality.
The concept will offer a modern take on Georgian cooking, with dishes built around open-fire grilling, native Georgian ingredients and seasonal British produce. Drinks will include Georgian beers, ChaCha-based cocktails – ChaCha is a Georgian grape spirit – and a focused selection of 100 Georgian natural wines curated by wine expert Honey Spencer.
Set across two floors, the 110-cover space will include a bar and a private dining room. The venue will also host regional wine tastings, including sessions using Georgian-made clay qvevri (large amphorae used for traditional winemaking).
Interiors by designer Katya Samsonadze are described as blending folkloric Georgian textures with a clean, contemporary look.
Hospitality operators Giorgi Mindiashvili and Mitz Vora lead Berkeley Square Hospitality. The pair previously worked at Ennismore on the development and openings of Hoxton hotels and London restaurants including Tandoor Chop House, Egg Break, Breddos Tacos Soho and Seabird.
Mindiashvili said: “DakaDaka is a project we’ve been building toward for years. Georgian food is rich in history and soul, and we’ve long felt there was space in London to showcase it with care and precision.”
Vora added: “There’s a beautiful depth to Georgian cooking – in the techniques, the ingredients, and the stories behind each dish. DakaDaka is a chance to bring something purposeful and soulful to London’s dining scene.”
