Nero Group welcomes ‘record’ half-year sales of £338m

Nero Group has reported a “record” first-half revenue of £338m for the six months to November 2025, up 9% on the same period last year. 

The group, founded by chief executive Gerry Ford, said growth was driven by stronger trading in the UK and a continued expansion of its store estate.

The group, which owns the Caffè Nero brand, recorded 5% like-for-like sales growth alongside the opening of 26 new outlets.

UK sales reached £185.4m in the first half, marking a rise of 7% year on year, supported by a 5% uplift in like-for-like sales. The company also reported like-for-like growth of 8% in Turkey and 11% in Sweden.

Nero Group operates about 1,151 stores across 11 countries and employs 11,000 people. It serves more than 150 million customers each year. In the UK, the business runs 632 Caffè Nero sites, with 10 openings completed in the first half.

According to the group, product campaigns contributed to performance during the period, including two single-origin coffees sourced from Brazil and Kenya. The chain reported strong demand for iced drinks over the summer and autumn, with Matcha drinks accounting for most of a 50% rise in iced sales. The new Pistachio Croissant also performed well, with 500,000 sold in the past three months.

Caffè Nero founder and group CEO, Gerry Ford said: “Our first half was very strong. We had record sales at the group level and record sales at Caffè Nero U.K. This marks two years of continuous sales records. 

“At a time when many coffee businesses are struggling, our success is a reflection of the hard work and outstanding service from our store teams and the significant momentum we have built up through menu innovation. It’s been particularly encouraging that we are not only growing sales, but we are also growing our customer base.”
