Dinerama owner announces closure

The owner of street food market place Dinerama has announced it will close permanently this weekend on the 4 October.
The Shoreditch-based venue which houses a cluster of stalls, bars, and late-night entertainment has been running for five years.
In a statement published on Twitter, owner Jonathan Downey said: “Dinerama closes this weekend. Gone for good. After five years, one fire and 2 million visitors, we’re finished because of our landlord. Sunday is the last day’s trading of the best business I’ve ever been involved with”.

It is the second business that Downey owns to close this week after the publican also announced the end of Soho-based bar, Milk and Honey after 18 years of trading.
Downey, who is also chief executive of Hospitality Union and London Union, cited the government enforced 10pm curfew as the reason for the decision.
He also tweeted: “RIP Milk & Honey London (April 2002 – September 2020). The first recorded case of a business dying of curfew.
“Thank you to all the brilliant people who’ve worked there and to all the lovely guests we looked after”.
