Moto Hospitality has appointed Noel Collett as its new chief operating officer, effective 29 September 2025.
Collett has more than 30 years’ experience in retail and hospitality. He was previously chief operating officer for the UK and Ireland at SSP Group, the transport hub food and beverage operator, and earlier held senior roles at Lidl.
He will join Moto’s operating board at a time when the motorway services operator is planning further investment in electric vehicle charging, heavy goods vehicle charging, new service areas and digital technology.
Collett succeeds Michelle Madeley, operations director, who will leave at the end of September.
Madeley has overseen a doubling of customer satisfaction levels during her tenure and helped Moto secure a place in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work list for the past two years.
Moto operates 70 service areas across the UK, employing around 6,000 staff.
Its sites host brands including Marks and Spencer Food, WH Smith, Burger King, Costa Coffee, Greggs, Pret a Manger, KFC and BP.
In a LinkedIn post, Ken McMeikan, chief executive of Moto Hospitality, said: “I could not be more delighted to announce the appointment of Noel Collett as Moto’s new chief operating officer.
“This is a hugely exciting time for Moto and Noel’s appointment reflects our continued commitment to our customers, and colleagues, with further significant investment planned in EV Charging, eHGV Charging, new motorway service areas, and digital and AI solutions.”
He added: “I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank Michelle Madeley, our Operations Director, who will leave us at the end of September.”
