German Doner Kebab opens first Norwich site
The new location will also give people the chance to try new additions such as the GDK Doner Rice Bowl, a mix of GDK’s signature doner meat, crisp salad, and rice

German Doner Kebab has opened its very first site in Norwich, located on 43 St Stephens Street today (22 May 2025).
The new Norwich location will create over 20 new jobs and offer GDK’s signature offering of meat, salad, handmade sauces and waffle bread.
The OG Kebab includes your choice of doner meat (or plant-based alternative), fresh lettuce, tomatoes, onion and red cabbage, served in handmade toasted sesame waffle bread, with three signature sauces.
The new location will also give people the chance to try new additions such as the GDK Doner Rice Bowl, a mix of GDK’s signature doner meat, crisp salad, and rice.
The news comes after German Doner Kebab (GDK) was backed by investment and innovation firm True to continue its expansion in the UK and accelerate growth across new markets globally.
Since launching in the UK in 2015 GDK has quickly grown to over 145 UK locations and over 170 globally under Hero Brand Ltd’s (Hero Brands) ownership and the leadership of CEO Simon Wallis.
Hero Brands, the majority investor in GDK since 2016, will continue as an investor and key partner as the business looks to further deliver strong growth.
True said it will leverage its “deep expertise” in the consumer sector and understanding of brands to support GDK in its ambitions to scale further in the UK, given significant headroom, and accelerate growth across new markets globally.
