German Doner Kebab will enter the Irish market this year through a master franchise agreement with Strava Group, marking the brand’s first expansion into Ireland.
The first restaurant is due to open in Liffey Valley, Dublin, before the end of 2025. The partners plan to establish 30 sites across the country over the next 10 years.
The move extends German Doner Kebab’s partnership with Strava Group, which has been instrumental in the chain’s growth in the UK. The company is set to open its 150th UK outlet in Leeds later this month, a milestone in a decade of rapid expansion.
Chief executive Simon Wallis said the brand aimed “to dominate the kebab category across the world and in every neighbourhood”. He said: “We value working with master franchise partners who share and believe in our purpose to elevate the kebab experience, one kebab, done right, at a time. We look forward to continuing to work with Strava Group to fulfil the potential of the brand in Ireland.”
Strava Group chief executive Rickey Sharma said the Irish launch was “the next chapter” for the brand. He said: “We see tremendous potential in introducing our fresh, premium and innovative approach to this market, and we’re confident it will resonate with a new generation of customers. Liffey Valley will be the launchpad for what we believe will be a strong and sustained nationwide presence.”
The opening is expected to create more than 25 jobs at the Liffey Valley site, with further recruitment planned as new restaurants are rolled out.
