Chef and former iTunes head Martin Morales is due to open Andina Panaderia, London’s first Peruvian bakery in May.

The bakery’s aim is to celebrate female Andean chefs and will be led by head pastry chef Ana Velasquez and the menu will consist of savory items such as Chancay bread and sweet potato sourdough, to delectable sweets such as pastal de lúcuma and chicha morada muffins.

Andina Panaderia will offer customers the choice of eating in or taking away and will also provide a wide selection of coffees native to Peru.

The bakery is set to be Morales’ first opening since opening Chevche in 2012 and will feature a 40-cover Peruvian restaurant next door called Andina Picanteria.

The bakery will also double as a space for Peruvian and London potters to sell their works.
