SSP Group has signed a 14-year contract to expand and refresh food and beverage outlets at Leeds Bradford Airport, as part of the airport’s £100m terminal redevelopment.

The new agreement will see SSP operate a wider range of brands in the airport’s extended main terminal, including its first AMT Coffee outlet at a UK airport, alongside new concepts such as Monty’s Diner and a premium bar under its Juniper brand.

Leeds Bradford Airport is undergoing a major overhaul through its LBA: REGEN programme, which includes a three-storey extension to the terminal and a refreshed interior. The first phase has already seen the opening of a new Burger King and SSP’s Tap and Brew concept. The redevelopment is expected to be completed by winter 2026.

SSP will operate a range of casual dining and quick-service outlets, including Upper Crust, which will debut with a rebranded look, and Starbucks. Monty’s Diner, which opened its first location in early 2025, will serve American-style meals such as cooked breakfasts, pancakes, burgers and thick shakes. The site at Leeds Bradford will be the concept’s second UK location.

The Juniper bar will join five existing sites at other UK airports, offering cocktails and premium drinks in the refurbished departure lounge. Tap and Brew, SSP’s craft beer and kitchen concept, is already trading in the new terminal extension.

John Cunliffe, commercial and strategy director at Leeds Bradford Airport, said: “These new restaurants, cafes and eateries will be transformational for customers at LBA and help us deliver an experience of a lifetime when travelling through our airport.

“The customer journey will be completely unrecognisable; larger, faster, more streamlined security, an enhanced arrivals experience, exciting new shops and eateries, much more seating to relax and enjoy stunning panoramic views of our runway and better access for passengers with restricted mobility.”

Kari Daniels, chief executive of SSP UK&I, added: “We have a long-standing partnership with Leeds Bradford Airport, and we’re excited to be growing our footprint with these new and refreshed units as part of the airport’s major redevelopment.

“Providing choice is one of our core goals to ensure that we meet the needs of every passenger. We have opened our first two outlets, and look forward to bringing a few of our most popular own brand concepts to the airport for the first time alongside a fresh look for some enduring favourites.”
