Today’s news in brief – 17/04/24

Just Eat has revealed a UK&I Gross Transaction Value growth of 11% to £1.4bn in Q1 2024. However, the total number of orders decreased 6% to 214 million, compared to 227 million the previous year. Only in the UK and Ireland the number of orders during the period slightly increased by 1% to 60.3 million. 

Joe and the Juice has appointed former Domino’s CFO, Jeffrey Lawrence, to the board of directors to support the chain as it further accelerates its growth and expansion in international markets. Lawrence brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in building and franchising digitally-enabled foodservice and consumer brands. He currently also serves as an independent board member at Shake Shack and Xponential Fitness.

Cooks Coffee store sales have risen by 17% in FY24. As of 31 March, Cooks Coffee operates from 77 locations across the UK and Ireland, having increased its portfolio by 11 coffee shops since 1 April 2023. The group has also revealed a pipeline of more than 10 new stores that are expected to open in the second quarter of 2024.
