Hoppers to open new King’s Cross restaurant

Sri Lankan restaurant chain Hoppers has announced it is set to open its third site in London’s King’s Cross in February 2020.

Hoppers King’s Cross will offer 130-covers and will also feature a “much larger bar” than the previous locations. Hoppers said the inspiration for the design of its third edition is based on the “much-travelled coastal journey” from Colombo, the island’s capital, to the historical Dutch town of Galle.

Based on Hoppers’ philosophy of “family-style feasting”, the menu will feature all-new bar bites, seafood grills and beachside snacks. The larger bar will also offer a selection of beers on tap, including two of Hoppers’ own brewed beers. The cocktail list will feature sharing punches, swizzles and coolers inspired by classic 1960s Tiki-style drinks.

Hoppers is owned by JKS Restaurant and has two additional sites located in Soho and St Christopher’s Place. JKS also operates the Gymkhaha brand which is set to reopen its Mayfair site in February next year, after a fire forced it to temporarily close its doors earlier this year.
