Wallfish & Wellbourne Bistro has announced its closure less than two months after being collaboratively launched by two independent restaurants in Bristol.

The bistro opened on 14 November in the city’s Clifton Village area and saw the Wallfish Bistro come together with the Wellbourne restaurant.

Wellbourne opened in August 2017 was headed by Michelin trained chef Ross Gibbens and former Dabbous head chef Michael Kennedy. When Dabbous closed in 2017, Kennedy moved to Clifton and worked with Wallfish. The new restaurant traded from the Wellbourne site.

The owners announced the closure of the restaurant on Twitter: “Unfortunately due to circumstances I feel very much out of our control @_Wellbourne will not be reopening again. Thank you for your support and custom it has not gone unappreciated.
