The Laundry has officially opened its doors at the Walton Lodge in Brixton.

Owner Melanie Brown has teamed up with chef Dylan Cashman, has opened the bistro and wine shop, which will serve baked goods in the morning to brunch to dinner with cocktails.

Brown has previously worked as a chef at Peter Gordon’s the Providores and Tapa Room in Marylebone before founding online retailer and wine bar The New Zealand Cellar and The Australian Cellar.

Cashman, joins from Sydney’s Institution Seans Panorama and Pilu at Freshwater. He is also a finalist in the Australian Food Service National Chef of the Year 2018, Dylan has spent the last few years running his own restaurant, The Blue Door on 5th in Queensland.

The Laundry offers a wine list consisting of 50 wines which “aims to represent the very best from old and new world regions to guide guests to try new varietals, as well as providing exceptional representation from classic and well-loved makers”.

The list features Mel Brown’s first collection of wines, New Press, three wines created to represent a “true expression of New Zealand terroirs and styles”.

The new bistro and bar offers private dining rooms which accommodate 25 guests and a “south-facing Parisian-inspired terrace.”
