Burger King UK Group has announced the acquisition of KFG Quickserve Limited, a business that operates 34 franchisee restaurants across the UK from the Kout Food Group.

This purchase will increase the group’s company owned portfolio to 136 sites within a total UK estate of 517 restaurants.

Burger King UK said the acquisition forms part of a wider plan to “revitalise” the brand, and stay committed to “organic growth”.

News of the acquisition also follows another recent expansion for the group, with the purchase of eight new sites across Oxford and Bristol last December.

Alasdair Murdoch, CEO for Burger King UK, said: “This significant acquisition is a great way for us to end 2019, and demonstrates our commitment to growth of the brand.

“I would like to thank Kout Food Group for their support along with the enormous contribution they have made to Burger King in the UK over the past 10 years.”

He added: “The restaurants have been run in an exemplary way and we welcome the restaurant teams as they become part of an ever-growing BK UK Group.”

Kout Food Group will continue to own and operate 78 Burger King sites in Kuwait.
