Chef Tom Shepherd has announced the launch of a debut restaurant under his name, Upstairs by Tom Shepherd.
Opening on 8 October 2021, the venue will be situated in Lichfield, Staffordshire, as a first-floor restaurant above his father’s jewellery shop.
The 28-cover establishment is also set to feature a bar area and central chef’s table upon its launch next month, with a roof terrace planned for early 2022.
Shepherd brings over 14 years of industry experience to his new venture, having worked across a number of Michelin-starred restaurants.
Most recently, Shepherd retained a Michelin star and three AA rosettes as head chef at Adam’s Restaurant in Birmingham.
Prior to joining Adam’s Restaurant in 2017, he acted as development chef at the two-Michelin-starred Restaurant Sat Bains.
Since his departure from Adam’s in 2019, he has operated Dine at Home with Tom Shepherd, a meal kit service of weekly changing three-course menus delivered to diners’ doors.
