Fried chicken and waffle chain Bird has announced the opening of its first new site in 2020 on Electric Avenue in Brixton.

The new 40-cover site will feature classic Bird dishes including fried chicken and waffles served with honey butter and Canadian maple syrup, their trademark Waffle Burger and their unique BIRD Brew lager, alongside some carefully selected specials and local craft beers.

The Brixton opening builds on three consecutive years of like-for-like sales growth for BIRD, which they attribute to a focus on consistency and listening to customers in this rapidly changing environment.

The group has also confirmed the Brixton site will be the “first of several openings in 2020”.
