Aquavit London, a Nordic restaurant in St James’s Market, has announced the appointment of Jonas Karlsson as head chef

Karlsson, who has two decades of cheffing experience, will be responsible for curating the Aquavit London menus and managing the kitchen team on a day-to-day basis.

Karlsson has served as head chef at restaurants including 100 Wardour St: Heaton Butler and Baine; and Harvey Nichols ‘Fifth Floor Restaurant’, as well as having been chef de partie at Coq d’Argent and Michelin-starred Orrery.

Aquavit London said Karlsson has developed a “signature style” that “encapsulates the essence of both simple modern European and Scandinavian food”.

Giancarlo Princigalli, general manager at Aquavit London, said: “We are delighted to

welcome Jonas to the Aquavit London team. His skill and passion for innovative Scandinavian cooking is really exciting, and I can’t wait to see him elevate the Aquavit food offering to a new level”.
