Supper club Chicken of the Woods is to open its first permanent restaurant, named Through the Woods.

The 16-cover restaurant will be headed up by former Smokehouse chef, Chris Slaughter, and will open in London’s Crouch End offering one sitting per day at 8pm from Thursday to Saturday.

A £40 set menu including fennel poached courgettes and garden tart and cheese custard served alongside an array of wines will be on offer.

Slaughter said: “Through the Woods is back to basics for me, using the best of what’s on our doorstep, cutting down on food waste, promoting meat reduction and just as important a genuine fun and friendly place to have supper.”

The restaurant aims to have a high focus on vegetarian meals, however Slaughter says the menu will have at least one “single high-welfare meat option”.

Through the Woods is set to open on 2 August.
