Deliveroo has launched the Restaurant Rescue Team, the team is aimed at those being “pushed out of bricks-and-mortar sites” by escalating costs.

Deliveroo will help restaurants with branding, menu development and pricing strategies, and look to offer a wider customer base through its platform.

Alongside this, it will offer preferential commission rates and cover set-up costs for a limited period.

Chinese restaurant the Good Earth moved into an Editions delivery-only kitchen in Swiss Cottage, after it closed after 20 years of trading in West Hampstead due to “increasing costs”.

Andrew Kwok, director of Good Earth, said: “Joining Deliveroo Editions was an easy decision for us as it meant there was little upfront cost without the risk of a high capital expenditure typically required to set up a new business.

“The closure of our West Hampstead site was not easy but at least now we can be assured of continued employment for a few of our staff.”

Deliveroo has been contact for comment.
