The opening of Brewdog’s new Carlisle bar has been delayed with a company spokesperson saying the bar will open in “early 2019” despite being set to open this week.

A spokesperson for Brewdog told Catering Today that the delay “wasn’t unusual” for Brewdog projects and added that it was just “one of those things”. Brewdog said it had no confirmed date for when the bar would open.

When announcing the Carlisle bar, Brewdog said it had been targeting the town for a while, planning to collaborate with local Cumbrian brewers. The Carlisle outlet is expected to serve the chain’s well-known range of food and craft beers.

Earlier this year Brewdog announced it was to offer shareholders the opportunity to open craft bars under the Brewdog name with a new franchise agreement.
