Nottingham’s Restaurant Sat Bains rated fourth best in the world

Restaurant Sat Bains in Nottingham has been rated the fourth best fine dining restaurant in the world, according to the TripAdvisor 2018 Travellers’ Choice. The eatery which serves British cuisine was the only UK-based restaurant to place the top 10 in the list; Adam’s in Birmingham was rated 11th while Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons in Great Milton was 15th. These were the only three UK restaurants to feature in the top 25 list. It is the first time Sat Bains’ self-titled Nottingham restaurant has topped the UK rankings in the Travellers’ Choice Awards for Restaurants, having taken sixth place in 2014 and second place in 2015. British chef Satwant Singh "Sat" Bains opened Restaurant Sat Bains and the restaurant has a 4.5 rating on TripAdvisor with almost 1,500 reviews. The restaurant has two Michelin stars and was the first in Nottingham to receive such recognition. Sat and his wife Amanda Bains said: "We have always believed in our team and our location, and we feel both the kitchen brigade and front of house team we have currently are the strongest we have ever had. It's very flattering to receive such high praise from our guests, and we are immensely proud to fly the flag, not just for our home city of Nottingham and the Midlands, but the UK too. "To be among restaurants of such high calibre in the world ranking is extremely humbling. It's an honour to be recognised and it will inspire us to keep pushing to deliver the ultimate in gastronomy. There will certainly be extra celebrations at our Christmas party this month!"
