Today’s news in brief – 12/04/24

Restaurant group Six by Nico will be opening a new restaurant in Westgate, Oxford, on Wednesday 22 May. The site will be its fifteenth restaurant across the UK. Six by Nico Oxford has a capacity for 64 covers in the main dining area with a private dining space for 12 guests, plus a terrace in a space boasting nearly 4,300 square feet overall. Some 50 new jobs will be created. 

Freemans Event Partners has appointed four people to its senior leadership team – Luck Buckle as head of food, Jamie Coleman as head of beverage, Jake Denton as head of concessions, and Lee Davies as operations director.

Deliveroo and Wingstop have extended their exclusive partnership, which began in 2018. According to the brand, it is focused on significantly growing its footprint in university towns and cities as its customer base is largely made up of millennials and Gen Z. Through the partnership with Deliveroo, Wingstop plans to open more sites in Clapham, Merry Hill, and Croydon in the next couple of months, and its largest site yet at Westfield Stratford City.

Steakhouse and barbecue restaurant Temper will open Temper Burger, a brand new smash burger experience in White City, on 17 April. Inspired by Temper’s cheeseburger taco, Temper Burger will offer a menu of smash burgers, created by chef director David Lagonell exclusively using sustainable British meat, sourced from a single Yorkshire supplier.
