En Root, the plant-based Indian restaurant, has opened its third South London restaurant at the Ritzy Cinema in Brixton.
It will follow in the footsteps of its Clapham and Peckham siblings, serving up home-cooked Indian meals.
The menu will feature En Root staples such as the ‘Raja Wrap and ‘Don Dada Platter’ – the, as well as new exclusive cinema-style small bites including the ‘Poppanachos,’ where India meets Mexico with a poppadom base snack topped with Dhal, Pickled Cabbage, Avocado, Raita and Spice Krispies.
Nish Modasia, co-founder of En Root, said: “We are so excited to bring our Plant Power to the iconic Ritzy in Brixton. Born and raised locally, we grew up going to the cinema, meeting friends outside and dancing to music upstairs.
“We have catered events in Windrush Square, the heart of our Brixton community and thus we feel a perfect fit to this space, place and time. It is a truly magical moment to nourish such a venue and we are grateful for the opportunity. The journey never stops… Forwards Ever.”
Wayne Hall, general manager at The Ritzy Picturehouse, added: “We are so excited and proud to welcome En root to the Ritzy family.
“This collaboration will blend the best of plant based food with the most loved cinema in London, to a community that deserves such a perfect partnership. Brixton gets ready for an explosion of good food and drink, married with our usual blend of good films and events. This will be a great experience for all.”
