The Adam Handling Restaurant Group has announced that it will close its Cadogan Hotel Chelsea restaurant.

Operations at the Belmond-owned hotel will continue as normal for Adam Handling Chelsea until the group’s consultancy contract ends on 14 October.

As a result of the mutual agreement, Adam Handling will turn his focus to the group’s other UK expansions.

Handling, owner of the group, said: “As I said at the end of lockdown, I really want to focus on our flagship restaurant in Covent Garden, Frog by Adam Handling and, with the launch of The Loch & The Tyne in May in Old Windsor, and the upcoming opening of Ugly Butterfly at Carbis Bay in August, we have so much to get our teeth into.

“Working with the Cadogan Estate and Belmond for the past three years has been a great experience and we wish the team every success with the new operation when it opens later this year.”

In turn, The Cadogan will relaunch a new dining experience later this year that will “build on the excellent work” of Handling, offering a combination of “understated elegance with local charm”.

Xavier Lablaude, general manager at the hotel, added: “We would like to thank Adam Handling for his work in establishing the restaurant and the food and beverage concept within The Cadogan hotel.

“Since opening in March 2019 his hard work and creative flair has helped to establish The Cadogan as a premier destination within the heart of Chelsea. We wish him all the best with his new projects.”
