Whitbread’s contemporary high street steak brand, Bar + Block, has opened two new sites in Scotland and Milton Keynes, taking its portfolio to 17 sites.
The new sites will follow the steak house’s all-day trading format – serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, seven days a week.
The menu puts the spotlight on “high quality” 30-day aged steaks in a variety of cuts and sizes. Also on the menu are fresh burgers ground on-site, salads, grills and grazing plates whilst an express menu, served in under 10 minutes, is available for £10 Monday to Friday.
In addition, Bar + Block also serves an unlimited cooked breakfast and a kids’ menu featuring veggie sticks, main, dessert and a drink for £6.50. Drinks include craft beers and ciders, cocktails and accessible wines.
Whitbread said the modern design in both restaurants is inspired by the “theatre of food and drink”, – with the venues sporting a “central statement bar with copper detailing and a large open kitchen, complemented by reclaimed wood, high quality fabrics, and seating.
Rebecca Donaldson for Whitbread Restaurants, said:“We’re very excited to be back in business post a year full of restrictions and to be in the position to begin growing the Bar + Block brand again. We are thrilled to be opening our first restaurant in Scotland and in Milton Keynes and are gearing up for a busy summer.”
Whitbread also plans to open an additional Bar + Block restaurant in Edinburgh later this year.
