TGI Fridays appoints Alan Clark as its new CFO

Restaurant brand TGI Fridays UK has announced the appointment of Alan Clark as its new CFO, among a raft of other appointments.

Clark’s appointment follows several changes to TGI Fridays leadership team following the appointment of CEO Robert Cook last year. Prior to joining TGI Friday UK, Cook held the role of CEO at Virgin Active as well as being a board member.

Alogn with Clark, Dan Staples has joined TGI as its new chief marketing officer having previously been the UK marketing director at Ladbrokes as well as numerous positions at Betfair in the UK and Malta.

Since then he has been the director of brand marketing at Wiggle Chain Reaction Cycles and most recently relaunched the Checkatrade brand whilst in an interim consumer marketing director role.

In addition, Tom Sycamore has joined the team as its chief operating officer after joining in January this year. 

Sycamore spent over four years at Pizza Express, most recently as operations director for the UK and Ireland, leading the 480 restaurants, central operations and customer services teams.

Suzanne Peacock has also been appointed as TGI Friday’s people and culture director with Alyson Scott joining as TGI Friday’s supply chain and technical director having been with the company since 2008.

Commenting Cook said: “We now have in place a diverse team with a strong set of experience within the hospitality industry, paired with a good understanding of TGI Fridays as a brand. Between us, there’s a lot to do but we are looking forward to putting our plans into action and you can expect exciting things from us in 2020.”
