Neon Jamon Smithdown closes after seven years

South Liverpool-based restaurant Neon Jamon has officially closed its doors after seven years.

The restaurant, which opened in 2013 serving Catalan-inspired food, closed its doors on 29 February and confirmed its closure on Facebook.

The statement said: “Well it’s come to our last day trading as Neon Jamon Smithdown and it’s been an amazing seven plus years filled with some of the best memories and people you could wish to meet both guests and staff. Although this is a sad day, we look forward to welcoming you into Berringtons very soon.”

Neon Jamon is set to rebrand as Berringtons before reopening in mid-March following a refurbishment.

The new site will feature live wood fired cooking techniques and flavours, with dishes including grilled meats, fish and vegan options, alongside a bar.
