Street food trader Baba G’s has closed its first bricks-and-mortar restaurant in Camden Market, after less than a year.
The Indian-inspired burger restaurant opened its 50-cover site in Camden in May last year.
A statement posted on its social media platforms announced the closure, and read: “Just a little announcement to say that 19 Jan is our last day trading at the Baba G restaurant before we move on.
“We had a super time during our popup in Camden’s North Yard – thanks everyone who visited and supported our first bricks and mortar site.”
The founders Liz Selway and Alec Owen appeared on the 2019 series of BBC’s Million Pound Menu and secured a £300,000 investment from Atul Kocher, but opened the Camden site independently.
Baba G’s will continue to trade at Pop Brixton, Vinegar Yard in London Bridge and the Mercato Metropolitano food hall in Elephant and Castle.
