Wingstop UK has opened a new restaurant in Peterborough as part of its nationwide expansion plans, offering free wings to the first 100 customers. The new site, on the corner of Long Causeway and Cathedral Square, spans 1,878 sq ft and seats 72 diners. It serves the full Wingstop UK menu of wings, tenders, burgers and sides.
The launch supports the company’s plans to open more than 20 new sites across the UK by the end of the year. Wingstop UK, which entered the market in 2018, now operates 66 restaurants and employs over 2,700 people nationwide.
Its popularity has been driven by a focus on product and brand partnerships linked to music, fashion and sport, aimed at younger customers.
Last month, Wingstop UK was named in The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2025 and was commended for its support for ethnic minority employees. Initiatives such as the Step-Up Programme, designed to develop aspiring managers, form part of its approach to workplace culture.
Chris Sherriff, chief executive at Wingstop UK, said: “Peterborough has been on our radar for a while, and we’re excited to finally bring our signature flavour to the city this June. Long Causeway, a bustling spot in the heart of the city centre, is the ideal location for us to meet local demand. As we continue expanding across the UK, we’re focused on delivering delicious food, great vibes, and standout experiences for our fans.”
