Chef and restaurateur, Victor Garvey, has closed his Covent Garden restaurant, Sabarita, the chef’s Soho restaurant Rambla on Dean Street will remain open.

According to Garvey the restaurant has been shut down since November, with Catering Today finding that Sabarita’s phone is no longer receiving calls despite the fact its website is still live.

Following the closure of Garvey’s first restaurant, Encant, in January, the chef said Sabarita and Rambla were “both performing better than I could ever have imagined”. Garvey is expected to open a new paella restaurant named Bar Jaleo in the near future.

The closed restaurant is to be replaced in Garvey’s portfolio by Spanish restaurant Barullo, located in Aldgate.
