Thai Square restaurant to open in Bayswater in June

The new Bayswater location will be led by head chef ‘Kied’ Paralak Burasit from the Buriram province in northeastern Thailand, also known as Isan

Thai Square is set to open a new restaurant site in Bayswater on Thursday 12 June.

Marking the group’s 11th location, the new restaurant is situated just a minute’s walk from Lancaster Gate Underground Station and directly opposite Hyde Park.

Since the founding of its first site in 1996 at The Strand, The Thai Square Restaurant Group has become a household name in London dining.

The chefs are dedicated to bringing over 150 dishes to life on-site daily across its restaurants, using premium ingredients flown in fresh from Thailand.

The new Bayswater location will be led by head chef ‘Kied’ Paralak Burasit from the Buriram province in northeastern Thailand, also known as Isan. Her expertise is influenced by the region’s “bold and distinctive” food, celebrated for its spicy and tangy dishes.

House signature dishes include Buriram chicken, a homage to Chef Kied’s hometown–grilled chicken, Cha Cha beef and Laab Ped featuring minced duck breast tossed with shallot, spring onion, mint leaves and chilli flakes.

The 40-cover venue will feature Thai-inspired architecture with an interior boasting antique stone walls and laterite bricks, reminiscent of the Phanom Rung Historical Park in Buriram, while “contemporary” wallpaper designs depict an atmosphere of the tropics.

Haim Danous, managing director, said: “This location holds a special significance to me due to its deep ties to both my professional and artistic journey. During my time as an artist, I used to sell my artworks by the Hyde Park fences, just across the road.

“Over the years, this address has never been home to a restaurant, making my passion for expanding Thai Square align perfectly with the opportunity to establish ourselves in an area we have never catered before.”
