Some 10 fire crews were sent by the London Fire Brigade (LFB) when a fire broke out at Cafe Ravioli in London’s Westminster area.

As many as 72 firefighters tackled the fire at around 12am on Saturday morning, it was reported that it took three hours to get the blaze under control.

The restaurant was closed when the fire broke out with LFB confirming the whole ground floor was alight upon their arrival.

Most of the ground floor of the restaurant was damaged by the fire however there have been no reports of any injuries.

Crews were sent from Lambeth, Soho, Chelsea, Dowgate and Euston fire stations and police officers helped to close roads surrounding the incident.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
