US burger chain Shake Shack has announced it will be opening its 12 UK store at London’s Brent Cross shopping centre.

Shake Shack said it will work with local purveyors, producers, and artists to create a “one of a kind Shack” for the local community, even before the restaurant opens. Construction kicked off with a custom illustration by typographer and illustrator Adam Hayes, whose artwork went up onsite ahead of its late 2019 opening.

The piece showcases 3D lettering of ‘Shake Shack’ in Hayes’ signature style. Drawn by hand, each letter illustrates a different aspect of the local Brent Cross community including the origin of its name, its diverse community and the history of the area.

The new store will offer the chain’s classic menu including the signature ShackBurger and SmokeShack, in addition to special menu items unique to the Brent Cross Shack.
