Manga Banga, a new Japanese concept restaurant, is set to open in early July on Lisson Grove.
The 50-cover restaurant is located 150 yards from Marylebone Station. It will feature a wall covered with over 100 manga magazine covers, neon signage, and a mural coupled with interpretations of Japanese dishes.
Taking cues from Izakaya, the informal Japanese bars that serve alcoholic drinks and snacks, Manga Banga will bring together Asian small plates, bao, cocktails and manga – Japanese comics and graphic novels developed in the late 19th Century.
The menu will feature signature dishes including crispy baby squid with yuzu kosho mayo; bang cauliflower; seared salmon sashimi with yuzu-soy and ginger; spicy tuna tacos with scorched chilli salsa; and vegetable gyoza.
The dishes will be centred around a Japanese twist on available British produce.
