East London’s Fayre Share restaurant has closed after what the restaurant’s co-founder Mark Bloom called a lack of “weekday demand”.
The restaurant, which offered a menu of traditional British sharing plates opened in May last year by Bloom and his business partner Barry Myers. The pair have confirmed that they will not be looking to open the concept elsewhere at this stage. Catering Today found that at the time of writing the restaurant’s website was down, with its phone line not connecting.
Co-founder Bloom, said: “Sadly the weekday demand just wasn’t there in the area. The weekends were great and we were lucky enough to get a lot of great reviews and feedback. It was part location, part us suffering from the wider and well reported downturn in restaurant trade.”
