Taiwanese bun chain, Bao has announced it is to open a third site at London’s Borough Market.

The site follows outlets in Soho and Fitzrovia, in serving all of the chains iconic dishes including its well-known blood cake with cured egg yolk, along with some new dishes. The restaurant will be backed by JKS Restaurants, who also own Gymkhana and Brigadier’s, replacing Feng Sushi at 13 Stoney Street.

Bao opened its first site in Soho in 2015 and has since amassed a large fan base following up with its Fitzrovia opening in 2016. Owners Erchen Chang and her husband, Shing Tat Chung along with sister, Wai Ting Chung, also opened Taiwanese restaurant and teahouse Xu a year later.

With the latest opening the Xu group will be in control of 14 individual restaurants, with it promising the latest Bao restaurant will not be an imprint of its predecessors.
