The Three Tuns in Henley’s Market Place is set to reopen under new ownership on Tuesday 27 May.
The pub has been acquired by Nigel Sutcliffe, owner of The Oarsman in Marlow and Barry Wagner, owner of the renowned butchers next door Gabriel Machin.
The Three Tuns will be run by the team behind The Oarsman, with executive chef Scott Smith overseeing the kitchen and general manager Patrycja Gajda leading the front of house.
The revived pub pairs warm, relaxed service with a produce-led menu built around premium cuts and ingredients sourced directly from Machin. The opening represents a fresh start for this space, with an all-new food and drink offering from top to bottom.
The menu will include bar bites like lamb croquettes and grilled sausages with nduja and shallots, while starters will include the likes of devilled kidneys on toast, clams à la plancha, and Machin’s oak smoked salmon with potato salad.
Main dishes will range from confit lamb breast with carrot and black garlic to a baked hake with brown shrimp and spring greens. The Butcher’s Board will showcase a rotating selection of cuts from Machin including Lamb Cutlets, Bavette Steak Frites, and a generous 28oz Côte du Boeuf, all served with fries, rocket and Béarnaise.
Celebratory cuts such as the Shoulder of Lamb or Wing Rib of Beef will also be available for the table.
The pub’s offering will also include The Boat Shed, located in the courtyard of the pub, designed as a more casual offshoot it will serve up a compact burger-focused menu available to eat in or take away.
