Popeyes UK is set to open its 100th UK site, marking the milestone with its new London Bridge Station unit due to open on 25 November.
The New Orleans-founded quick-service restaurant (QSR) brand opened its first UK outlet at Westfield Stratford in 2021. The Stratford branch remains the company’s busiest site globally.
The new two-floor, 3,000 square foot location sits at a main entrance to London Bridge station, which handles about 72 million passengers a year.
Popeyes said the London Bridge opening is its 27th in the capital and part of a wider expansion programme that will see almost 50 new restaurants open in 2025 across several formats. The company expects the growth to create more than 2,500 jobs.
The launch follows the group’s move into travel hubs. In April, it agreed a partnership with SSP Group and opened its first UK airport site at Birmingham Airport in the summer. A further restaurant opened at Birmingham New Street station in July. The company said sales momentum has continued this year, with more than 3.1 million Chicken Sandwiches sold so far.
CEO Tom Crowley said: “We’re immensely proud to have reached this milestone – growing to 100 restaurants within four years of entering a new market is a remarkable achievement. Our growth so far is a strong testament to the strength and appeal of the Popeyes brand and our fantastic, authentic fried chicken, which is always cooked fresh and breaded by hand.
“Our restaurants in travel locations are always popular with commuters and holidaymakers grabbing a Popeyes on their journey, and we can’t wait to bring our shatter crunchin’ chicken to London Bridge, where customers will have access to our world famous products as well as exciting new items yet to come.”
He added: “We’re now truly one of the most well-established fried chicken QSR brands in the market. We continue to see an amazing customer response at all of our openings, and we will continue to open more Popeyes restaurants up and down the UK in 2026.”
