Itsu, the Asian-inspired food brand founded and run by Julian Metcalfe, has announced on its social media channels that it is to offer a discount of 50% off every menu item and a free miso or hot drink, for NHS staff.

On the announcement, Metcalfe said: “At Itsu, we acknowledge and admire the incredible bravery and sacrifice being made by the staff of the NHS, in their unwavering efforts to help and support the public at this time of crisis.

“We already offer discounts to the emergency services, and we are now extending this to 50% off and free miso and hot drinks.”

He added: “It is now more important than ever before, that our NHS staff have access to delicious, healthy, hot, food made fresh in the country’s cleanest kitchens. As businesses and society come together, it really is the least we could do.”

Itsu has also announced that it is moving to a takeaway only service, reducing the time customers spend in stores and restaurants.

It is also ensuring deliveries are appropriately sealed and put into thermal bags carried by the drivers as well as workers to maintain the supply of its grocery products to all major supermarkets across the UK.
