Boxpark has received planning permission approval for its new location in Birmingham.

Located in Digbeth, Boxpark has signed a 15-year lease in the iconic Floodgate Street Arches.

Investing around £5m into the local area, the new opening is expected to create approximately 200 new job opportunities and is set to launch in 2025.

The food hall will sit under four 12m railway arches, spanning nearly 17,000 sq. ft and is set to include around 10 kitchen units and four internal bars set across two floors.

This new scheme will be the first Boxpark in the Midlands, following the successes of recent openings in other major UK cities including Liverpool.

Ben McLaughlin, COO of Boxpark, said: “We’re thrilled to have received planning approval and are excited to move forward with the opening of our new site in this vibrant city. This will be a big project for the team and our aim is to carefully restore the Floodgate Street Arches while giving it a new lease of life.

“Digbeth’s eclectic and creative business community is a perfect match for our ethos of supporting and championing local, independent talent. This marks an exciting new chapter for Boxpark, and we look forward to contributing to the area’s continued growth.”
