A Cardiff catering company boss has been jailed for the indecent assault of a underage girl.

Deborah Evans, 44, of Ely has been convicted of 11 counts of indecent assault and sentenced to seven years in jail.

Evans, who owned and run Cardiff Cuisine Catering, was found guilty of crimes that took place in the late 1990s, when the victim was under 16.

The victim documented her encounters with Evans in a diary, and went to the police after several years to make a complaint.

Evans will remain on the Sex Offenders Register indefinitely after being found guilty.

Wales Online reported that sentencing, Judge Michael Fitton QC told Evans the victim had been “groomed and managed to satisfy your own sexual desires”.

He added that there was “overwhelming evidence” that the harm she suffered was “severe”.
