A dessert-only bar, Yolo, has opened in London’s Covent Garden, which aims to specialise in homemade cakes and plant-based desserts, alongside a record shop named RockPopRecords.

The bar will bake all of its offering fresh every morning, and vows to use “no nasties or food colourings, just traditional baking techniques” for its cakes, brownies and muffins. Yolo will offer American-style crodough along with classic cakes, such as banana loaf, carrot cake, chocolate cake, and Portuguese pastel de nata.

Yolo will also offer cakes for vegans and those with allergies, gluten-free cakes will be available to takeaway or eat in, with a choice of gluten-free polenta cake and salted caramel and peanut butter brownie. The bar will offer vegans its plant-based peanut butter blondie.

The drinks menu features coffees, loose-leaf teas and milkshakes, with flavours such as Oreo Cheesecake, Brownie Batch, and Salted Caramel Coffee Shake. Yolo will also offer a vegan shake made from peanut butter, banana, vegan yogurt, almond milk and agave syrup.
