Antica Pizzeria da Michele, dubbed ‘the world’s most famous pizzeria’ for its appearance in the film Eat, Pray, Love has closed.

The company’s Baker Street site will continue to trade as normal while it appears that the Stoke Newington site is in fact undergoing a rebrand. Catering Today found a Facebook post from ‘Pizzeria Stokey’ informing customers that the restaurant would change its name.

Antica Pizzeria da Michele has removed the Stoke Newington branch from its website and previously faced licencing issues when opening its Baker Street site. The restaurant said it will be accepting reservations under its new name from 6 September.

Catering Today attempted to contact Antica Pizzeria da Michele for comment however the phone line provided was out of service.
